About the Role
An accredited electrical testing company is adding field technicians to its Denver team. You’ll test, maintain and commission power distribution and transmission equipment for utility, industrial and data center customers. Openings are available at every level, from early-career techs to NETA Level IV leads.
What You’ll Do
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot and start up low, medium and high voltage electrical systems
- Test and maintain switchgear, circuit breakers and transformers, both dry-type and oil-filled
- Recondition and repair low and medium voltage breakers (molded case, air-magnetic and vacuum)
- Test low and medium voltage cable installations
- Run high voltage test equipment, including power factor test sets
- Start up and troubleshoot controls and transfer schemes
- Take part in an emergency on-call rotation
- Follow NETA, NFPA 70E, OSHA and company safety procedures on every job
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Working knowledge of NETA, NEC, OSHA and NFPA standards
- Hands-on experience with some of the following: MCCs, breakers, relay testing, oil testing, infrared scanning, switchgear start-up
- Military electrical or power generation training is a strong plus
- Experience with SF6 or gas-insulated switchgear is a plus, not required
- Clear communication with customers and crew, and solid report writing
- Comfortable with Windows and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license
Level Guide
- Level I: 1+ year of related experience. Learns under supervision.
- Level II: 2+ years and NETA Level II. Works under supervision and is qualified for their own safety (LOTO, arc flash).
- Level III: 5+ years and NETA Level III. Leads and mentors junior techs, reviews test data and performs switching.
- Level IV: 5–10 years and NETA Level IV. Runs large projects and multiple crews, handles complex investigations and writes reports.
- Senior Field Tech: 5+ years with strong high voltage experience through the transmission class, a record of on-budget projects and on-site reporting.
Pay and Benefits
- $25 – $85 per hour depending on level, certification and experience, plus overtime

Travel and Physical Requirements
- Up to 40% travel
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb, crawl and stand for long periods, often outdoors or in tight spaces
